Plastic dolls

Plastic dolls were first explored in the 1940s, after World War II. At this time, it was more natural for people to focus on such items designed for pleasure and luxury. Of course, they started out as objects of experimentation.

At first, hard plastic dolls were created. These were similar in appearance to the composition dolls created from substances such as celluloid. However, they were much more durable.

During the 1950s and 60s, plastic dolls were replaced more with such materials as regular and foam rubber, as well as vinyl. Vinyl was a very significant development. This is because it allowed for hair to actually be rooted into the head. Of course, plastic dolls are still created under special circumstances. They are just not as popular as more modern material options.
