Baby dolls
Baby dolls did not begin to be produced until around the 1700s. Surprisingly, this was three centuries after the first known commercial production of any doll type. Today, toys which resemble infants and toddlers are so popular that most would assume that adult figures would have come later.
With better technological and material advances, baby dolls are available in more and more realistic forms. Just one example of this is the furthering realistic skin textures. Another example are the improvements when it comes to vocalizing abilities. Many are even designed to consume water.
Baby dolls are popular because they give younger children the ability to role-play as parents. They will generally come with a bottles, diapers, and possible some clothing. It is common for many accessories to be capable of being purchased separately. Different outfits are a good example of this. Some may also come with play strollers and high chairs.
